GDD takes over CEDPO presidency

CEDPO presidency

The GDD will assume the CEDPO presidency (Confederation of European Data Protection Organisations) for the year 2022.

CEDPO was founded in September 2011 jointly by several national European data protection organisations as a common umbrella organisation at European level. CEDPO aims to establish contacts with European institutions and to promote the role of the company data protection officer as well as the harmonisation of data protection regulations within the European Economic Area (EEA) or the European Union. Like the GDD, CEDPO advocates reasonable, practicable, balanced and effective data protection.

Über die CEDPO

Bei CEDPO handelt es sich aktuell noch um einen Zusammenschluss ohne explizite Rechtsform. Geplant ist jedoch die Überführung der Organisationen in einen Verband nach belgischem Recht mit Sitz in Brüssel. Seitens der Geschäftsstelle der GDD wird die CEDPO von Steffen Weiß, Mitglied der Geschäftsführung der GDD für Internationales, betreut.
